The P2185 code stands for “Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 2 Circuit High.” It’s logged when the PCM detects electrical faults in the ECT circuit. Various issues could trigger the code, like a malfunctioning ECT sensor, a failing PCM, and a bad connection in the #2 ECT sensor.
Something i would do is leave it at the dealership and not take it back until fixed. Coolant sensor location on 2009 Touareg 3.0 v6 tdi and bleeding procedure. I have the p0118 engine coolant temp sensor 1 circuit high code on my check engine code. My temp gauge on the dash is not moving and fans stay on after shutting off engine, I located a coolant sensor down low on the lower radiator hose and replaced it with a new sensor
P0118 G62 Signal to ground. This sensor is located in the rear of the engine into a bigger hose. The other sensor G83 is located in front of the engine. The PCM monitors voltage drop to determine coolant temperature. If the ECT reads less than freezing temp. when engine has been running for more than a few minutes, the PCM determines a circuit fault and sets this code.
